CELEBRATING FATHER'S DAY - JUNE 19TH 2022

Happy Father's Day to all the Amazing Dads, Stepdads, Granddads, Uncles, and all the others who have stepped in and filled those notoriously big shoes.

Whether it's lending timely life advice, rattling off a corny joke right when and where it's needed, or just being there and being supportive, dads hold a special place in the lives of so many.

May the celebrations be every bit as special as you all are!

Father's Day is a holiday honoring fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society. In Catholic countries of Europe, it has been celebrated on March 19 as Saint Joseph's Day since the Middle Ages. In the United States, Father's Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd and celebrated on the third Sunday of June for the first time in 1910. The day is held on various dates across the world, and different regions maintain their own traditions of honoring fatherhood.

Father's Day is a recognized public holiday in Lithuania and some parts of Spain and was regarded as such in Italy until 1977. It is a national holiday in Estonia, Samoa, and equivalently in South Korea, where it is celebrated as Parents' Day. The holiday complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents' Day.

FIVE (5) BEAUTIFUL STORIES

Here are Five (5) Beautiful Stories that should make us all think and perhaps help us adjust our priorities!   1 - First Important Lesson - All are Significant.  During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.   "Absolutely, " said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people.  All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello." I've never forgotten that lesson. I also later learned her name was Dorothy. 2. ...

CELEBRATING PRIDE MONTH - JUNE 2022

Pride Day is celebrated on June 28. The day marks the date in history when the first pride march was held in New York City in 1970.  Pride Month is largely credited as being started by bisexual activist Brenda Howard. Known as ‘The Mother of Pride,’ Brenda organized Gay Pride Week and the Christopher Street Liberation Day Parade a year after the Stonewall Riots. This eventually morphed into what we now know as the New York City Pride March and was the catalyst for the formation of similar parades and marches across the world. Bill Clinton was the first U.S. President to officially recognize Pride Month in 1999 and 2000. Then, from 2009 to 2016, Barack Obama declared June LGBT Pride Month. In May 2019, Donald Trump recognized Pride Month with a tweet announcing that his administration had launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality, although critics have noted that actions speak louder than words.  The New York Pride Parade is one of the largest and most we...
