CELEBRATING AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE ON FOURTH OF JULY 2022

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, AMERICA
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

Refresh your and your family's memory about this American holiday.                         ______________________________ What actually happened on July 4th. ______________________________
How did the founders envision our Independence Day celebration?           ______________________________
What is the best way to celebrate this Fourth of July long weekend?
On the 4th of July, the United States observes an all-important federal holiday in honor of the Declaration of Independence. We think of July 4th as a day representing the Declaration of Independence, America’s revolutionary Charter of Freedom, and the document upon which the nation’s founding principles were established.

Did you know that July 4th wasn’t the day that independence was declared. Nor the day that the Declaration was officially signed. So July 4, 1776 commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by delegates from the 13 colonies. On the 4th, the Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration of Independence.
This is the day we celebrate the birth of the United States of America.

John Adams described the way Americans should celebrate their independence each year. He envisioned the celebration to be one filled with fun, games, and elaborate fireworks - not an occasion for displaying military strength and political power. Many countries have adopted to celebrate in a similar fashion.

Let us be grateful and celebrate this Fourth of July by honoring our flag of unity, and at night with a grand exhibition of amazing fireworks, and all the cities are beautifully illuminated. Everything should be conducted with the greatest order and decorum. All Americans should exhibit a universal spirit of patriotism with faces of joy and gladness.

FIVE (5) BEAUTIFUL STORIES

Here are Five (5) Beautiful Stories that should make us all think and perhaps help us adjust our priorities!   1 - First Important Lesson - All are Significant.  During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions until I read the last one: “What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?" Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.   "Absolutely, " said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people.  All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello." I've never forgotten that lesson. I also later learned her name was Dorothy. 2. ...

CELEBRATING PRIDE MONTH - JUNE 2022

Pride Day is celebrated on June 28. The day marks the date in history when the first pride march was held in New York City in 1970.  Pride Month is largely credited as being started by bisexual activist Brenda Howard. Known as ‘The Mother of Pride,’ Brenda organized Gay Pride Week and the Christopher Street Liberation Day Parade a year after the Stonewall Riots. This eventually morphed into what we now know as the New York City Pride March and was the catalyst for the formation of similar parades and marches across the world. Bill Clinton was the first U.S. President to officially recognize Pride Month in 1999 and 2000. Then, from 2009 to 2016, Barack Obama declared June LGBT Pride Month. In May 2019, Donald Trump recognized Pride Month with a tweet announcing that his administration had launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality, although critics have noted that actions speak louder than words.  The New York Pride Parade is one of the largest and most we...
